Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has issued a new prophecy predicting significant developments in Nigeria’s political future.
In a video shared on Facebook, the cleric declared that former President Goodluck Jonathan will not contest in the next presidential election, despite growing speculation about his possible return to politics.
He warned that the real political battle ahead will be between President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and former Vice President Atiku Abubakar.
Ayodele stated that the clash between the two political heavyweights will attract intense international attention, particularly from the United States. “I say, repeat again, Jonathan will not contest,” Ayodele proclaimed. “Tinubu should get ready for Atiku, and America will back Atiku seriously, strongly.”
He warned that geopolitical influences will shape Nigeria’s political direction more than many people currently realize. According to him, the U.S. has yet to fully confront Tinubu’s administration, but signals of friction may soon emerge. “America has not started with Tinubu’s government. You may be taking my words for a joke,” he said.
Ayodele, who has built a reputation for making bold political predictions, advised President Tinubu to govern with fairness, transparency, and caution.
He warned that failure to address rising economic hardship, political discontent and diplomatic tensions could weaken his grip on power.
He further urged the government to prioritize economic stability, tackle insecurity and strengthen international alliances to avoid growing isolation. “This is not the time for complacency because spiritual and political forces are aligning for a major shift,” he said.
The prophecy has generated debates among political observers, with some dismissing it as speculative while others view it as a reflection of Nigeria’s volatile political climate.
