‎2027: Northern Minorities Back Tinubu, Announce Two Million-man Rally

‎A group under the aegis of Northern Minorities 4 Tinubu has declared its unflinching support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, dismissing claims that the President is “anti-North” as a fabrication of self-serving elites, DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS reports.

‎The group made its position known at a press conference in Abuja, where its Convener, Chief Jacob Edi, said northern minorities represent the “true majority” of the region and would not be swayed by propaganda.

‎Edi argued that President Tinubu’s appointments and policies have been fair to the North, pointing out that key offices, including the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, the Minister of Defence, the National Security Adviser, and the Group Managing Director of NNPCL, are occupied by northerners.

‎He also listed the establishment of the North-West and North-Central Development Commissions and the inclusion of an indigene of the FCT in the Federal Executive Council as evidence of Tinubu’s commitment to equity and balanced development.

‎Quoting Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa, the group said: “From critical infrastructure development to significant strides in agriculture and security, the President has demonstrated an unparalleled commitment to the welfare and progress of Northern Nigeria.”

‎The movement announced that preparations are underway for a two million-man rally in Abuja, with participants expected from all 19 northern states, to demonstrate the region’s solidarity with the President.

‎While admitting that Nigerians are feeling the pains of ongoing reforms, the group described the situation as “labour pains” that would eventually produce sustainable economic recovery.

‎It also unveiled plans to set up chapters across northern states as part of a wider mobilisation drive for Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
