A popular cleric in Akwa Ibom State, Prophet Francis Udo, has predicted a major political realignment ahead of Nigeria’s 2031 general elections, foreseeing a joint presidential ticket between Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso and Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Prophet Udo, founder of the Prayer Foundation Network with branches across all 31 local government areas of the state, made the revelation during an interview in Uyo with South South Punch on Wednesday.
According to him, a divine revelation showed that power would return to Northern Nigeria after President Bola Tinubu’s tenure, with Rabiu Kwankwaso, a former Kano State governor, emerging as his successor.
“In the dream God showed me, Kwankwaso will return to the All Progressives Congress (APC), initially as Tinubu’s vice president, before ultimately emerging as the party’s presidential candidate and then president,” he said.
He further claimed that Senator Godswill Akpabio, the current Senate President and former Akwa Ibom governor, would run alongside Kwankwaso as vice president in 2031.
Udo also foretold political developments within the National Assembly, stating that the current Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, would become Senate President, while Minister of Works, Senator Dave Umahi, would assume the role of Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF).
Akwa Ibom 2031: Ekperikpe Ekpo Tipped as Next Governor
On state politics, the prophet predicted that current Minister of State for Petroleum (Gas), Obongemem Ekperikpe Ekpo, would succeed Governor Umo Eno in 2031, when the governorship is expected to rotate back to Akwa Ibom North-West (Ikot Ekpene Senatorial District).
He revealed that Prince Enobong Uwah, the current Secretary to the State Government, would be nominated as Ekpo’s running mate.
“God has shown me clearly that Ekperikpe Ekpo will be the next governor of Akwa Ibom, with Enobong Uwah as his deputy,” Udo declared.
He also mentioned that Governor Eno would vie for the Senate seat representing Akwa Ibom North-East (Uyo Senatorial District) after his second term.
However, a brief conflict of interest is expected to arise with Uwah, who will later settle for the deputy governorship position.
Prophet Udo concluded by expressing appreciation to members of his prayer group for their dedication to spiritual intercession, which, he said, enabled him to receive divine insights.
He also commended NDDC Director of Projects, Dr. Victor Antai, for his contributions to the development of Akwa Ibom through his position on the Commission’s board.
