Born In August, Buried In August: Encomium Rent The Air As Stella Njideka, Lady Decency Bids The World Goodbye

Born in Immaculate Hospital, Urualla on August 24, 1982 to the family of Late Nze Nicholas Ezeibekwe and late Eunice Ezeibekwe (nee Ibe), Stella Ezinne Njideka Ezeh who gave up the ghost on June 26 2024 after a hard fight battle with cancer in Vejthani Hospital, Thailand.

Inspite of been a lover of Nigeria and her goodness, Inaccuracies in Nigerian health sector contributed to her death as she was diagnosed wrongly by four different hospitals in Abuja when having symptoms of this illness in 2023.

Nze George Ezeibekwe said at a grave side tribute that Ezinne’s death was a profound loss, but her legacy lives on through the countless lifes she touched.

According to Nze George, “Her family, friends,and Community will deeply miss her, but they take comfort in the enduring impact of her love, kindness, and dedication to making the world a better place for all.”

“Those who knew Ezinne admired her for her:

  • Unwavering optimism and positivity
  • Empathetic listening and guidance
  • Unrelenting support and encouragement
  • Generous spirit and kindness
  • Agility”

Father Ezeibekwe of the St Mary’s Catholic Parish, Osina, Imo State, extolled the virtues of Ezinne Njideka.

She said late Stella was a freedom fighter who always stand for the truth noting that she would be greatly missed amidst her colleagues, the less privileged in the society who she often show love to and the Non Governmental Organization, Progressive Movement for Better Nigeria, PM4BN, which she founded.

Sir ‘Tunde Babalola JP, the Editor of DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS, who presented the Tribute of PM4BN at the grave side said “to say Stella was a outstanding leader is just simply am understatement.”

“Lady Decency was an achiever who gave her all to humanity. Stella was a mentor who invested heavily in the growth of Nigerian youths. She loves and believed in Nigeria and worked for a better Nigeria. Her activities and contributions during the 2023 election shows the extent she was ready to make an impact in her beloved country,” the tribute authored by Onwukwe Oluchi Caroline, Stella’s Personal Assistant; Mrs Uju Chidi Eze, PM4BN Abia State Coordinator and Mr Ekwegh Stan, PM4BN Abia State Secretary stated.

They recalled that in December 2023, Diaspora Pan-African Youth Empowerment Initiative, DPYEI through the leadership of Lady Decency visited IDP camp and the City of Refuge Orphanage Home to put smiles on their faces stressing that Njideka was a philanthropist who feels the pains of others.

“Her unique and smart ways of handling issued made every interaction with her enjoyable. Decency was beautiful, smart, challenging, empathetic and encouraging. She always looked to grow; to better herself as a person and as a professional. She was a great listener with time for friends from all walks of life. She was selfless as she was determined and she left an indelible mark on so many people especially all the members of PM4BN and DPYEI,” they concluded.

Her remains were then interred in the family compound.

St Mary’s Catholic Parish Choir and Sacred Heart Choir were also the grave side with rendition of songs.
