NAPPS Crisis: Pastor Durodola Talks Tough, Demands Apologies From Association’s Ex-President; Exonerate Self Of Any Wrongdoing

The Proprietor of Dobar Schools, Itele-Onipanu, Maya, Ikorodu, Lagos, Pastor Prof. Durodola O. A. has demanded for an unreserved apology from the former President of Lagos State chapter of National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools, NAPPS, T. Y. Amusa, or face legal action.

Pastor Durodola in an open letter in response to a provocative publication by an online news medium (not DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS) sees the publication as “NAPPS politics taken too far”.

As a respected elder among the Association and as a peace maker, Pastor Durodola called “on the elders and members of NAPPS Lagos state to focus on a clean and respectful medium of handling challenges instead of propaganda and unlawful publication.”

He stated unequivocally that “I demand an immediate retraction and apology from T.Y Amusa, former Lagos State NAPPS president for his unprovoked attack on my person within 21 days of this publication using same online flycablenews and two national dailies of repute. Failure to do so will leave me with no choice but to explore all available avenues to defend my integrity and reputation.”

See details in the Open letter as reproduced below:

“OPEN LETTER TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC

RE: UNSUBSTANTIATED AND BASELESS ATTACKS BY T.Y. AMUSA, FORMER PRESIDENT, NAPPS LAGOS STATE

I, Pastor (Prof) Durodola O.A., have taken note of the unfortunate and baseless remarks made by T.Y. Amusa, former President of NAPPS Lagos State, in a phone chat with the correspondent of Fly Cable News and published by same on November 17, 2024.

Amusa made a reckless and unfounded allegation suggesting that I, Pastor Durodola, facilitated the mismanagement and misappropriation of over one hundred million Naira (N100 million) alongside with immediate past national president of NAPPS, Chief Otubela, whose fund is meant for the NAPPS building/land project in a state co-operative account.

I am appalled by this descent into the gutter by a member of the NAPPS, who should know better. Such comments not only undermine the decency of the association discourse but also expose the imminent disparity of NAPPS Lagos State.

It is deeply regrettable that instead of focusing on issues that matter to the well-being and development of the association (NAPPS) in Lagos state, the alleger resorted to personal attacks and character assassination.

For the record, I Pastor Durodola did not facilitate the mismanagement and misappropriation of NAPPS fund. I am a distinguished statesman whose commitment to the well-being and progress of NAPPS is unquestionable. My track record during service and my enduring leadership qualities speak for me.

I demand an immediate retraction and apology from T.Y Amusa, former Lagos State NAPPS president, for his unprovoked attack on my person within 21 days of this publication using same online flycablenews and two national dailies of repute. Failure to do so will leave me with no choice but to explore all available avenues to defend my integrity and reputation.

I, Pastor Durodola, still believe and am committed to a leadership of ideas and solutions. Therefore, I call on the elders and members of NAPPS Lagos state to focus on a clean and respectful medium of handling challenges instead of propaganda and unlawful publication.

SIGNED

Pastor (Prof) Durodola O.A”
