CASUALTY: Delta Boat Mishap Claims Over 30 Lives

In Delta State, a catastrophic boat accident has left over thirty people dead, include a toddler who was found hours later floating along the creek.

The tragic incident happened at Beneth Island in Gbaramatu Kingdom, Warri South-West local government area of the oil-rich State.

Many of the passengers, who were returning from a burial ceremony when the tragedy struck, are still missing.

According to reports, the incident happened when the speedboat carrying passengers collided with a submerged log, causing it to capsize.

The collision threw many passengers overboard into the water, many of whom were unable to swim and were not on life jackets.

Many of the passengers on the ferry drowned almost immediately upon being tossed into the river.

Eyewitnesses report that the boat was traveling at high speed when the accident occurred.

Witnesses and survivors recounted terrifying moments of desperation, as passengers struggled to stay afloat.

Meanwhile, search and rescue efforts have been launched, but the fate of the missing passengers remains uncertain.

Rescue teams continue to search the area where the accident happened, but hopes of finding survivors are fading as time passes.
