Boastful Tinubu Says ‘Am Veteran In Sharing Palliatives’, Blames Organisers For Multiple Fatal Stampedes; Insists ‘No Regret Removing Fuel Subsidy’

President Bola Tinubu has stated that he is a veteran in sharing of Palliatives to the needy, having been doing that for over 25 years just as he reiterated that he has no regrets about removing the fuel subsidy, emphasising that the decision was necessary to secure Nigeria’s financial future.

Speaking on Monday during a live presidential media chat broadcast nationwide, Tinubu explained that the subsidy was draining the country’s resources and jeopardizing future investments.

He said, “We are spending our future. We are spending our generation’s fortunes. We are not investing. We are just deceiving ourselves.

“Why should you have expenditures when you don’t have revenues?

“I don’t have any regret in removing the fuel subsidy. We cannot spend our generation investment.

”We have no choice. Otherwise, we are headed for the slippery slope… financial disaster, not just for us but our children.

The President also addressed the recent palliative stampedes in parts of the country that resulted in the loss of lives.

He attributed the tragedies to poor organization.

“It is very sad that people are not well organised. We just have to be disciplined. My condolences to those who lost their family members,” he said.

President Tinubu stated that organisers are responsible for the death of over 60 people recorded in the stampedes in Ibadan, Anambra and Abuja.

Tinubu during his first Presidential Media Chat in Lagos, said:

“I see this as a “very grave error” on the part of the organisers,” the Nigerian leader said

He also said, “I’ve been giving to the less privileged at Bourdillon for the past 25 years, we’ve never experienced stampede.”

DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS had reported the first stampede in which over 32 children lost their lives in Oyo state

Tinubu blamed organisers for the fatal stampedes that occurred during the distribution of palliatives to the less privileged in three Nigerian cities.

DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS also reported that the Federal Capital Territory Police Command confirmed the death of 10 individuals, including four children, in a stampede that occurred during a food distribution event at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, Abuja, on Saturday.

“Condolences to those who lost a family member, it is good to give. I have been giving out food stuff, commodities etc in Bourdillon. If you know you don’t have enough to give do not publicise it,” Tinubu added.
