A Christmas procession turned tragic in Gombe State on December 25, 2024, when a commercial bus lost control and collided with a group of Christian faithful.
The incident occurred as the celebrants, who were part of a procession from Tumfure community to the Government House and Gombe Emir’s Palace to offer Christmas homage, were struck by the out-of-control vehicle.
According to reports, at least 22 individuals were injured in the accident, though no fatalities have been confirmed.
The victims were quickly transported to both the Federal Teaching Hospital Gombe and the Specialist Hospital for medical treatment.
Spokesperson for the Gombe State Police Command, Buhari Abdullahi, confirmed the details of the crash, reassuring the public that no deaths were reported.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident.
