Historic Milestone: Methodist Church Nigeria Inaugurates Diocese Of USA; Prelate Aba Enthrones Rt Rev Dr Ifeanyichukwu Nwade As Pioneer Bishop

The head of Methodist Church Nigeria, the Prelate, His Eminence Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, has performed the four fold historic milestone celebrations of the inauguration of the Diocese of United States of America, USA, Enthronement of The Right Rev. Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwade as her Pioneer Bishop, Presentation of the Lay President and Honorific Awards to deserving members on Sunday, February 23rd 2025.

His Eminence Aba was assisted by the Lay President of Conference, Sir (Ide) Ifeanyi Okechukwu and the Secretary of Conference, SOC New Dawn, The Right Rev. Dr. Babatunde A. Taiwo.

The Diocese of USA was created among other Dioceses during the Methodist Church Nigeria Conference hosted by Benue Archdiocese in Abuja tagged Benue 2022 in August 2022 with the Right Rev. Dr. Ifeanyichukwu Nwade.

In a well packaged letter of appreciation sent to DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS, titled “MCN DIOCESE OF U.S.A. APPRECIATION!!!”, Bishop Nwade paid a glowing tribute to Prelate Emeritus, His Eminence Dr Sunday Olatunji Makinde CON, GPJ for pioneered the planting of Methodist Church Nigeria at Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A as well as Prelate Emeritus, His Eminence Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche, JP for moving Methodist Church Nigeria Conference to raise the presence of Methodist Church Nigeria in America to a Diocesan status.

Calvary greetings, beloved brothers and sisters, members of the MCN Global Family. We trust that everyone is doing great.

We give all glory, adoration, thanks, and praise to God Almighty for granting the MCN Diocese of U.S.A a holistically successful Inauguration of the Diocese, Enthronement of the Bishop, Presentation of the Lay President and Honorific Awards to deserving members on Sunday, 02/23/25 (Psalm 103, Philippians 4:4-6). Mutual congratulations to all members and stakeholders of MCN Diocese of U.S.A here in the U.S., in Nigeria and globally.

We are deeply grateful to the Chief Officiant at this historic milestone multi-dimensional program, our beloved Prelate MCN, His Eminence Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, who was assisted by our Lay President of Conference, Sir (Ide) Ifeanyi Okechukwu and our SOC New Dawn, The Right Rev. Dr. Babatunde A. Taiwo.

We are swift to equally express our deep appreciation to our beloved Prelate Emeritus, His Eminence Dr. Sunday Ola. Makinde, CON, GPJ, who started the journey with our very faithful leaders and members of Ereko Circuit, who had earlier pioneered the planting of Methodist Church Nigeria at Baltimore, Maryland, U.S.A, as far back as in the year 2001. We also deeply appreciate our beloved Prelate Emeritus, His Eminence Dr. Samuel Chukwuemeka Kanu Uche, JP for moving Methodist Church Nigeria Conference to raise the presence of Methodist Church Nigeria in America to a Diocesan status.

We acknowledge with immense thanks the guidance and support of all members of Methodist Church Nigeria Bishop’s Council. We were particularly motivated by the physical presence and generous financial support from The Rt. Rev. Dr. Otuekong Ukut PhD, Bishop of the Diocese of Atamumu, Cross River State, Nigeria. We use the following fathers of faith as contact points in appreciating this esteemed group; retired Archbishop J. Maclouis Ohakah, Dame Bolanle Ogunnaike and all others.

Furthermore, we acknowledge with deep gratitude, the corporate prayers, love and care of the leadership of MCN Praying Partners and all Ministers and brethren from our Home Dioceses of  Umuahia West, Ogbomosho, Ndoro, Umuahia, Abuja and Lagos. We also acknowledge with immense thanks, the support from our Ecumenical partners here in the U.S. including the leadership of WMC member Churches, Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion, RCCG led by Pastor Bayo Adeyokunnu and others. Our neighbors in Orangeville Community where our Diocesan Headquarters is located are also deeply appreciated.

Jehovah Jireh provided the financial and material resources for our historic program through all leaders, members and stakeholders of this Diocese of Solution, MCN Diocese of U.S.A. While we could not mention the names of all the families and individuals that have supported our Diocese in this message, please be reassured that we have sustained prayers for Him to reward all of you abundantly in Jesus Name (Luke 6:38, 2 Corinthians 9:6).

Finally, we express our deep appreciation and immense thanks for sustained support through the decades past to all members of our immediate and extended families including; NWADE, IGE, NTEKIM, ONYEJI, IDOWU, UDEAGHA, KANU, ONYEKWERE,  IJIKOYEJO, BASSEY AND GANDU FAMILIES. Beloved brethren, since it has pleased God Almighty in His Sovereign Will to grant us the divine privilege of being the pioneer Bishop and Diocesan Women’s Fellowship President, we have absolute faith, hope and love, knowing that by the help of the Holy Spirit, He will mercifully work in and through us and all other Diocesan leaders, members and stakeholders, whom He has chosen, to facilitate the accelerated growth and development of MCN Diocese of U.S.A in all ramifications to His glory in Jesus Name (Mark 11:22-26, John 14:12-14, Acts 1:8, 1 Corinthians 13:13, Hebrews 5:4, 11:6). 

Above all, we pray that the peace and blessings of God Almighty shall remain upon all of us, our families, and loved ones and that He will mercifully keep all of us safe and Rapturable in Jesus Name.
