Nigerian men have been urged not to depend on one source of income in order to escape financial crisis and maintain a happy home as the country passes through the current face of bitting and high level of inflation and financial difficulties.
A University don, who is also the President of Men’s Fellowship, St Barnabas Anglican Church, Kubwa Diocese, Abuja, Dr Solomon Temitope Ajape, gave the charge in a sermon titled: “Breaking the cycle of Financial struggles through Godly Principles”.
Dr Ajape, a Senior Lecturer in Mewar International University, who is also a Part-time lecturer in University of Abuja told the Congregation that having a single source of income remains the major reason for financial stagnancy, noting that ability to increase one’s saving is another way of living in abundance in a time of famine.
He counselled them to run away from anything that does not glorify God but used their leisure time to engage in activities that shore up their incomes.
Dr Temitope Ajape who shared some life experiences with the Church highlighted some of the ways to overcome financial problems using godly principles as stated in the Holy Bible.
He said it is doable to overcome financial problems without being corrupt or using get rich quick syndrome.
He then concluded that even with the harshness of the economy, Christians should always obey the kingdom’s principles on giving stressing that they should give to God and people cheerfully but be prudent in spending and avoid extravagant spending during this period.
Highlights of the service was the inauguration of the church parochial council, rededication of the church choir, the launch of the Women’s Guild and Women Fellowship theme for the year which is “There is still hope”, aiming at Rekindling the hope of members that no matter what, there is always hope while serving God.
