CCII To Elect New Executive April 4, Barr Akinsola Ige Rolls Out Agenda As Frontline Aspirant For Position Of Legal Adviser

*** Says ‘Actualization Of Ibadan State Doable’

As the umbrella body of clubs of Ibadan indigenes, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, (CCII), goes to polls tomorrow, April 4th 2025, a frontline candidate for the position of Legal Adviser, Akinsola Ige, Esq., has presented a 10-point agenda to solicit for votes of members.

Topping his agenda is to provide legislative agenda in the pursue of the actualization of the long driven Ibadan state which he believed is achievable.

The consummate legal professional, Barrister Akinsola Ige who belongs to the consolidation 2025 team with Chief Barr. Ajeniyi Sulaimon Ajewole as Presidential Candidate spoke during the manifesto night held in Ibadan on Wednesday urged lovers of the progress of Ibadan land to give the group their mandate.

Barrister Ige shared his agenda with DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS.

“MY MANIFESTO AS LEGAL ADVISER

As the Legal Adviser to the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), I am committed to upholding and strengthening the legal framework that governs our esteemed organization through the following Action Plan.

1. UPHOLDING CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATES – I will diligently fulfill my responsibilities as Legal Adviser, as enshrined in the CCII Constitution, ensuring adherence to legal and ethical standards.

2. INSTITUTIONALIZING CONSTITUTIONAL REVIEW – I will advocate for a constitutional provision mandating a review of the CCII Constitution every five years or as directed by the General Assembly, ensuring its continued relevance.

3. PRE-ACTION NOTICE REQUIREMENT – To safeguard the integrity of CCII and its constituent clubs, I will work towards establishing a mandatory one-month pre-action notice before any legal action is instituted.

4. STRENGTHENING ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION (ADR) – I will promote the recognition of the Olubadan of Ibadanland as the highest ADR authority within CCII, ensuring that disputes are first resolved through traditional and peaceful mechanisms before resorting to litigation.

5. LEGISLATIVE SUPPORT FOR IBADAN’S DEVELOPMENT – Leveraging my experience as a former Legislative Aide/Consultant at the National Assembly (2015–2019), I will provide legal expertise in legislative drafting and advocacy to facilitate the realization of Ibadan State.

6. PRESERVING CULTURAL HERITAGE – I will actively work towards securing intellectual recognition and legal registration of Ibadan’s significant monuments and artifacts, ensuring their protection for future generations.

7. LEGAL ADVISORY TO CCII LEADERSHIP – I will offer sound legal counsel to the Executive Committee and other CCII organs, ensuring compliance with constitutional and administrative obligations.

8. SUPPORTING CONSTITUENT CLUBS – I will provide legal assistance to constituent clubs in their registration and incorporation, fostering their legitimacy and operational efficiency.

9. ANNUAL LAW CLINIC INITIATIVE – I will establish an Annual Law Clinic to provide legal education, dispute resolution training, and pro bono services to CCII members and constituent clubs.

10. ANY OTHER ASSIGNMENTS GIVEN TO ME BY PRESIDENT GENERAL – For the overall interest and development of CCII and Ibadanland in general.

The Chairman of the 2025 electoral Body of CCII, Dr Lawal, who assured of free and fair polls said the committee started its work since December 2024.

An Indigene of Ibadan born to Late Pa Jacob Akinyele Ige from Ile Abonko, Oopo Labiran Quarters, Akinsola Ige, Esq., is a legal practitioner of over 15 years standing with diverse experience cutting across litigation, corporate, private and public practice.

He is presenting himself for election through the authority of Lagelu 16 Club, one of the three constituent clubs that established the Central Council of Indigenes (CCII) in 1982, and soliciting for votes as CCII LEGAL ADVISER most specially, by the authority of His Imperial Majesty, the Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Ige Olakulehin as a member and now Patron of Lagelu 16 Club.

He has the undiluted support base of other foremost Lagelu 16 Clubs members like Chief Bayo Oyero, Prof. Gbade Oyekan, Chief Bayo Alugbin, Chief Matthew Adepoju and the Club’s President, Alhaji Adegboyega Sanni among others.

Barrister Ige Akinsola has over 20 publications to his credit.
