Sunday Sermon: We Will Rise Again By The Rev. Onoja John Onoja

Text: John 11:23

Introduction:
To start with, I need to define two key words in the theme of this message – “Rise” and “Again”.
By the way of definition, to Rise is to move upwards, attain a higher status, to be resurrected. While Again mean once more.

Beloved, Tell sombody by your side that Methodist Church Nigeria will rise again, tell yourself that either the devil likes it or not you will rise again.

Looking at the situation of Mary and Martha, humanly speaking it was a hopeless situation but not with God. Jesus Christ categorically told Martha “Your brother will rise again” and at the appointed time it came to pass. Delay is not denial.
As a church, we need to rise again spiritually, numerically, financially, Evangelically and structurally.

Proverbs 24:16 says for though the righteous fall seven times, they rise again, but the wicked stumble when calamity strikes.

Actions needed
For us to rise again, we must take note of the followings:

1. We must humble ourselves and pray and seek God’s face and turn from our wicked ways 2 Chronicles 7:14; 1 Chronicles 4:9-10
2. We must follow divine instructions. Not to be hearers alone but to always act according to the word of God. John 11:41; Ezekiel 37:7; Luke 5:1
3. We must accept responsibilities and discharge our duties adequately.
4. Ephesians 5:15-17; 2 Timothy 4:5.
5. We must work together in love.
6. We must be united in mind and heart. Acts 4:34.
7. We must have positive mindset. Proverbs 23:7
8. We must back our talks with actions.
9. We must follow the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
10. We must be sacrificial.

Conclusion.

Beloved in Christ, nothing is possible until we have men and women who are responsible and are ready to pay the price.

From time in memorial, God had never work in isolation of men. In every generation, he looks for people to use, for example, Moses Joshua, Elijah, Elisha etc.

Are we ready to make ourselves available for God to use us to restore the glory of the church, our families, ministries, and businesses?

I see the church rising again like never before!
I see kubwa Diocese rising to a higher and greater level!

• I see all the circuits and sections rising again!
• I see somebody’s business and marriage working again!
• I see God in the realm of the spirit restoring sombody’s glory, if you are the one shout hallelujah.

It’s never too late for God to change our situations even our country Nigeria.

Trust and obey God as He is raising us from zero to hero and heroes in Jesus name, Amen.
