A final-year student at Kwararafa University, Ahenjir Emmanuella, reportedly lost her life during a police stop-and-search operation in Makurdi, Benue State.
The tragic incident occurred at Wurukum Roundabout when officers from the Nigeria Police Force allegedly opened fire on the vehicle in which Emmanuella was traveling, resulting in her being fatally shot.
Human rights activist, Ukan Kurugh, condemned the shooting, describing it as “a tragic and unjust loss of innocent life,” and called for a thorough investigation to bring justice for Emmanuella.
