‎Kogi Herder Kills 11-year-old son During Grazing – Reasons Will Surprised You!

‎The Kogi State Police Command has reportedly arrested a herder, Jato Jaye, for allegedly killing his 11-year-old son, Buhari, in the Agbaja area of Oworo in the Lokoja Local Government Area of the state.

‎Security expert, Zagazola Makama, disclosed this via X on Tuesday.

‎According to him, the incident happened on August 19, when the deceased went grazing with his father but never returned home.

‎He added that Buhari’s mother, Adama, thereafter raised the alarm over her son’s whereabouts, prompting a search party which led to the discovery of his corpse in the bush.

‎He wrote, “Sources told Zagazola Makama that on August 19, one Zuberu Adamu of Fulani bush camp, Agbaja village, reported to the police that his sister, Adama Adamu, complained she had not seen her son, Buhari Jato, who went for grazing with his father, Jato Alhaji Jaye, since August 17.

‎“A search party was immediately raised, which led to the discovery of the lifeless body of the boy in the bush. The father was reportedly found at the scene attempting to bury the body in order to conceal his act.”

‎He further disclosed that operatives from Division B, Lokoja, reportedly moved to the scene, documented the incident, and took the suspect into custody.

‎The decomposing body was also said to have been released to the family for burial in line with Islamic rites.

‎During interrogation, Jaye was said to have confessed to killing his son, claiming the boy “offended him” while they were grazing.

‎He allegedly admitted to using a Fulani stick to flog the child, which led to his death.

‎“Sources said the case would soon be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), Lokoja, for further discreet investigation,” he added.

‎The state Police Public Relations Officer, William Aya, did not pick calls made to his telephone line. A text message sent to him had yet to be replied to as of the time of filing this report.

‎DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS had reported days ago that a 47-year-old Chinese national, Luo Mao, was confirmed dead after he suddenly slumped while on duty at a ceramics company in the Ajaokuta area of the state.

‎Aya disclosed this while responding to an enquiry by our correspondent.

‎According to him, the incident occurred on Friday.

‎He said the Human Resource Manager of the company (name undisclosed) lodged the report at the Area Command in Ajaokuta.
