‎Nigeria @65: Tinubu’s Reforms Laying Solid Foundations For Development Says Betta Edu

‎As Nigeria marks its 65th Independence Anniversary today (Wednesday), a former Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Dr Betta Edu, has called on Nigerians to embrace unity, patriotism, and shared responsibility as the nation charts a renewed course for growth and prosperity.

‎This was as she also declared that President Bola Tinubu’s bold and decisive reform steps are solid foundations for sustainable growth and national renewal.

‎Edu made this known in a goodwill message to Nigerians, obtained by DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS on Wednesday.

‎In her message, Edu commended the resilience, progress, and enduring spirit of the people, describing Nigerians as “specially crafted with great determination, an unconquerable spirit, and a limitless possibilities mindset.”

‎She noted that Nigeria’s industrious and innovative citizens have distinguished themselves across various fields, ensuring the country’s place among the world’s leading nations.

‎According to her, the 65th Independence Anniversary “Is not only a moment for celebration but also an opportunity for thanksgiving to God and for a renewed commitment to the dream of a united, peaceful, and prosperous Nigeria.”

‎Adding, Edu commended President Bola Tinubu for “His bold and decisive steps in repositioning the economy, extending care to the vulnerable, and entrenching citizen-centred governance.”

‎She maintained that “These initiatives are laying a solid foundation for sustainable growth and national renewal.

‎“Though challenges persist, the Renewed Hope Agenda provides a clear pathway to stability, reforms, and expanded opportunities for all Nigerians. We are already at the end of the tunnel; all we see now is green ahead.”

‎She emphasised that Nigeria’s diversity remains its greatest asset, while its population provides an unbeatable marketplace and fertile ground for investment.

‎Edu also urged Nigerians to keep hope alive, stating, “Together, we can turn today’s sacrifices into tomorrow’s prosperity.”

‎DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS reports that Nigeria marks its independence from Britain every October 1.

‎It would be recalled that this year’s celebration was scaled down following the Federal Government’s cancellation of the traditional parade.

‎Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, also followed suit by suspending the state’s event.

‎However, Tinubu will deliver a nationwide broadcast on Wednesday, October 1, to mark Nigeria’s 65th Independence anniversary.

‎According to a statement issued on Tuesday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the broadcast will go live at 7 a.m.

‎The statement is titled, “2025 Independence Anniversary: President Tinubu Addresses The Nation.”
