‎‎Police Seal Off Lagos Hotel After Arrest Of 2 Suspected Armed Robbers

Police operatives have arrested two suspected armed robbers at an hotel they are allegedly using as their hideout in Mushin area of Lagos State.

‎The arrest of the armed robbers, Lagos Police Command spokesperson said in a statement, followed the sighting of four suspected robbers around 10:00 a.m. on Friday.

‎She said while three of the suspects escaped, one of them a 21-year-old was apprehended.

‎Adebisi said search of the bag of the apprehended suspect uncovered a cut-to-size single-barrel gun, an English Barreter pistol with two live rounds, and another pistol with cartridges.

‎The suspect confessed the gang had just concluded a robbery in Ago-Iwoye, Ogun, and planned to regroup at the hotel in Mushin, Lagos.

‎She said acting on intelligence, operatives raided the hotel and recovered a laptop, charms, suspected Indian hemp, hard drugs, and other incriminating exhibits.

‎She added that another suspect, aged 33, was arrested at the scene with a locally fabricated pistol. The hideout has since been permanently sealed off.

‎The suspects and exhibits have been transferred to the Lagos Police command headquarters.

‎Efforts are on to continue to track down the fleeing gang members.

‎Lagos Commissioner of Police, Mr Olohundare Jimoh, commended the operatives for their professionalism during the operation.

‎Jimoh urged hoteliers to keep proper customer records, warning negligence could expose their facilities to criminal exploitation.

‎The CP reaffirmed the command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, urging residents to stay vigilant and report suspicious activities.
