The federal government, through the Federal Ministry of Education, has debunked the claim circulating on social media that it ordered the closure of schools nationwide from the 24th of November 2025.
In a statement signed by the ministry’s Director of Press and Public Relations, Boriowo Folashade, described the report as “false and misleading”, which did not originate from the Federal Government, the Federal Ministry of Education or any State Ministry of Education or any approved security agencies.
Folashade further urged the public to always confirm information from the ministry’s official channels before circulating it on social media.
“Any announcement, advisory or notice coming from unofficial or unauthorised sources should be ignored and not shared. Members of the public are urged to always verify the authenticity of information before circulating it in order to curb the spread of misinformation,” the message ended.
Recall that on November 11, 2025, terrorists launched a deadly attack on Maga Comprehensive Girls’ Secondary School in Kebbi State around 5:52 a.m., abducting several students.
No fewer than 25 students were abducted from the Government Girls Comprehensive Secondary School in Maga, Danko/Wasagu Local Government Area, on Monday morning, the Kebbi State Police Command has confirmed.
