‎OHS CLASS OF 89 Host Reunion After 36 Years, Elects DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS Boss, Secretary

‎The atmosphere of conviviality and joy were evident at the weekend when members of Olubadan High School, Aperin, Ibadan 89 set gathered for the first time in 36 years for their reunion.

‎The Chairman and Chief Executive of CIYAN Hotel, Ibadan, Mr Lekan Siyanbola, a.k.a. Olu Omo of France who is also one of the old students open wide the gates of the hotel which played host to the historic ceremony on Saturday November 22nd 2025.

In his address of welcome, the Senior Prefect of the set, Pastor Prof Durodola Olujide, set the ball rolling as he appreciated all the members for turning up for the event. He as well lauded the Planning Committee for a job well done.

‎According to him,” It is with deep joy and gratitude that I stand before you today as the Senior Prefect of our set to welcome you to this historic reunion. After 36 long years, we gather again — not as students in uniform, but as accomplished men and women who have journeyed through life in different directions.

‎”Thirty-six years ago, we shared classrooms, jokes, dreams, challenges, and youthful ambitions. Today, we return with stories of growth, experiences, successes, and even the scars that have shaped us into who we are. This reunion is not just a meeting; it is a celebration of friendship, resilience, and the enduring bond that time has not been able to break.

‎”Seeing everyone here reminds me that the seeds of discipline, unity, and leadership planted in us as students have truly borne fruit. We have become parents, professionals, leaders, and pillars in our communities — and that is something to be proud of.”

OHS Alumni National President, Otunba Idowu Wasiu Oladunni commended the 1989 set for successfully organized a reunion and urged them to have a board of executive so as to have representative within the larger body of OHS Alumni and further improve in their organization and Coordination.

‎He was accompanied to the reunion by some members of his executive including  Mr. Salami Kolawole Amidu the National Vice President; National Financial Secretary, Hon. Saheed Okunola; and National Social Secretary, Mr. Oladejo Sunkanmi.

‎The Guest Speaker, Dr. Rotimi Okunola, a member of 1985 set delivered an inspiring and impactful presentation on the topic:  “Building a Strong Alumni Structure – Plans for leadership, Committees, Dues and communication.

All the speakers including the National President urged the 1989 set to have an Executive to pilot her affairs and joined the enlarged executive of the Alumni body.


At the meeting that followed the series of lectures, One of the Convener of the body, Dr Abiodun Fasasi admonished members of the set on the need to see themselves as one and embrace oneness of heart and unity of purpose.

Election of officers was conducted. Mrs Bimbo Sanusi emerged as the Governor while Sir Tunde Babalola JP, the Managing Editor of DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS was elected unopposed as the Secretary.

Highlights of the event was the cutting of the Reunion cake.
