‎‎Celebration of Life: Matriarch Of Babalola Family, Mama Abigail Kikelomo Babalola Goes Home Dec. 12

The Babalola Family of Babalola Village in Ward 2 of Akinyele Local Government Area of Oyo State has announced the final burial rites of their Matriarch – mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Mama Abigail Kikelomo Babalola.

‎Mama Babalola would be buried on Friday, December 12, 2025 after a funeral service at the Methodist Cathedral of Light, Agodi, Ibadan. Reception would hold at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan.

‎The service would be preceded by a Christian wake keep and service of song in honour of Mama Abigail on Thursday, December 11 at Opposite Bashorun, Oloronbo Heath Centre, Bashorun, Ibadan, Oyo State.

Mama Abigail Kikelomo Babalola, a Susan Wesley Mother (SWM) Awardee of Methodist Church Nigeria, passed on peacefully on Tuesday September 23rd, 2025 at the ripe age of 98.

‎It would be recalled that a terse statement by Superior Senior Evangelist Emmanuel Abayomi Babalola titled: “A priceless gem goes home,” and made available to DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS, had announced the passing unto glory of Mama Kikelomo Babalola late September.

‎It reads: “It is with a heavy heart that I announce the passing away of my dearest mother, Mama Abigail kikelomo Babalola, who slept in the Lord on 23rd of September, 2025 at the age of 98 years.

‎”Burial arrangements will be announced later.

‎”May her gentle soul rest in perfect peace.

‎”Sun re o abiamo tooto.”

‎Mama Kikelomo Babalola is survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren both biological and by association.

‎They include Bolatito Babalola (Deceased); late Baba Ijo of Alakia Methodist Church, Ibadan, Sir Chief Solomon Oluokun Babalola; a retired Headmistress, Mrs Juliana Fadare; Superior Senior Evangelist Emmanuel Abayomi Babalola of the Media Unit of University of Ibadan; Pastor Biodun Babalola and a seasoned civil servant, the Head of Lands, Ibadan North West Local Government of Oyo State, Mrs Omotayo Omodewu, and late Mrs Oluseun Adeniji among numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
