Lead City University Ibadan would today honour the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja (Arusa I), with honorary doctorate degree, DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS reports.
The Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes, (CCII), has congratulated the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Rashidi Ladoja (Arusa I), on the honorary doctorate degree to be conferred on him by Lead City University.
In a statement issued by the CCII Publicity Secretary, Kola Olomide, the council described the honour as well deserved, noting that Oba Ladoja’s contributions to education, leadership, and the socio-cultural advancement of Ibadanland have been exemplary.
Olomide said the CCII, on behalf of all Ibadan indigenes, takes great pride in the recognition accorded to the monarch by Lead City University.
He added that Oba Ladoja’s life of service continues to inspire generations within and outside the ancient city.
Speaking on the recognition, the CCII President-General, Chief Ajeniyi Ajewole, said the honorary degree reflects the monarch’s enduring impact on traditional leadership and community development.
“Kabiyesi has always demonstrated uncommon wisdom, humility, and commitment to the progress of Ibadanland. This honour from Lead City University is not just for him but for the entire Ibadan,” he said.
Ajewole added that Oba Ladoja’s name has become synonymous with integrity and progressive leadership.
“We are proud of His Imperial Majesty. His achievements continue to elevate Ibadan on the national and global stage, and this recognition is another testament to his remarkable legacy,” the CCII President-General said.
The council urged residents, institutions, and well-meaning Nigerians to continue supporting the Olubadan as he provides guidance and leadership for the development of Ibadanland.
CCII also prayed for more wisdom, strength, and long life for the monarch as he receives yet another distinguished honour.
