Christians have been urged to hold and guard their salvation with utmost care while on earth in order to reign eternally with Jesus Christ.
Rt Revd Simeon O. Onaleke, Methodist Bishop of Diocese of Agodi gave the charge in a sermon during the Wake keeping service in honour of Mama Abigael Kikelomo Abike Babalola in Ibadan, Oyo state.
Bishop Onaleke who quoted Acts chapter 4 vs 12 emphasized that there is no salvation in anyone else except in Jesus Christ.
The cleric referring to the narration of
a story elucidated by Jesus Christ, he urged Christians to “strive to enter the narrow gate” stressing that they should not allow the anxieties of this life to take them away from God.
He warned that eternal condemnation awaits those who failed to live righteously while on earth.
Prominent religious and political leaders including the Prelate emeritus of Methodist Church Nigeria, His Eminence Dr Sunday Ola Makinde GPJ, CON; the Honourable Commissioner of Education in Oyo State, Hon. Segun Olayiwolaand a retired Director of the National Population Commission, Barr Ajao Gbolagade, among others.
The funeral Service would be held on Friday, December 12, 2025 at Methodist Cathedral of Light, Agodi, Ibadan. The reception would hold at the International Conference Center, University of Ibadan.
Mama Kikelomo Babalola is survived by children, grandchildren and great grandchildren both biological and by association.
They include Bolatito Babalola (Deceased); late Baba Ijo of Alakia Methodist Church, Ibadan, Sir Chief Solomon Oluokun Babalola; a retired Headmistress, Mrs Juliana Fadare; Superior Senior Evangelist Emmanuel Abayomi Babalola of the Media Unit of University of Ibadan; Pastor Biodun Babalola and a seasoned civil servant, the Head of Lands, Ibadan North West Local Government of Oyo State, Mrs Omotayo Omodewu, and late Mrs Oluseun Adeniji among numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
