“Thou crownest the year with thy goodness; and thy paths drop fatness.”
— Psalm 65:11
Meaning (Scriptural Insight)
To crown means to complete, decorate, honour, and reward.
God does not end a year empty or wasted for His people; He finishes it with evidence of His goodness.
The end of the year becomes the best part when God crowns it.
Supporting Scriptures
“The end of a thing is better than the beginning thereof.” — Ecclesiastes 7:8
“Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me…” — Psalm 23:6
Even if the year began in struggle, God reserves goodness for the close.
“FAT BLESSINGS” — *THE BIBLICAL MEANING OF FATNESS*
“…and thy paths drop fatness.” — Psalm 65:11
In Scripture, fatness symbolizes:
Overflow
Abundance
Satisfaction
Honour
Supernatural supply
Scriptural Evidence
“My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fatness.” — Psalm 63:5
“He shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” — Psalm 37:4
“Thou preparest a table before me…” — Psalm 23:5
Fat blessings are not survival blessings, but celebration blessings.
God’s paths do not drop scarcity—they drop excess. When God crowns a season, lack becomes illegal.
“Even today do I declare that I will render double unto thee; turn you to the strong hold, ye prisoners of hope.” — Zechariah 9:12
Who Are Prisoners?
Biblically, prisoners include:
Those trapped in hardship (Joseph – Gen. 41)
Those delayed by injustice
Those bound by circumstances, debt, fear, or waiting
God’s Pattern
Joseph: Prison → Palace (Genesis 41:14)
Israel: Captivity → Restoration (Jeremiah 29:11–14)
Zion: Prisoners and Double Restoration (Zechariah 9:12)
God does not just release prisoners—He compensates them.
CROWNING PRODUCES DOUBLE PORTION
“For your shame ye shall have double.” — Isaiah 61:7
“He hath filled the hungry with good things.” — Luke 1:53
When God crowns a year:
Shame turns to honour
Loss turns to restoration
Delay turns to acceleration. One of the provokers of fat blessings is sacrifice. Psalm 50:5.. SACRIFICE is making others comfortable at your inconvenient . King Solomon put it to use from 1000 1 Kgs 3:4, to 22000 1 Kgs 8:63 until he got to countless, that could not be numbered, 2 Chronicles 5:6 , no wonder King Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth in riches and wisdom. 2 Kgs 10:23. God will give us grace to live a sacrificial life that will launch us into the realms of Fat blessings where we shall be bigger, greater and better than all our mates In Jesus Name Amen.
