BREAKING: Former Super Eagles Head Coach Onigbinde Dies At 88


Former Super Eagles head coach, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, has died at the age of 88, DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS reports.


Onigbinde passed on to eternal glory on Monday night.


The respected tactician came into prominence after guiding the then Green Eagles to second position at the 1984 Africa Cup of Nations in Cote d’Ivoire.


Later in 1984, he took over as coach of Shooting Stars Sports Club in Ibadan and took the Club to the final of the Africa Club Champions Cup. They lost the finals to Zamalek of Egypt.


Onigbinde was appointed Super Eagles head coach for the second time in 2002 following the sacking of Amodu Shuaibu.


He led the Super Eagles to the 2002 FIFA World Cup where the team failed to progress beyond the group stage.
