The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has updated its official register of political parties to recognise former Senate President, David Mark, as the National Chairman of the African Democratic Congress, ADC, DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS reports.
Also listed in the revised register is former Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola, who now occupies the position of National Secretary of the party.
The update, reflected on INEC’s website as of Thursday night, followed a ruling by the Supreme Court which addressed the lingering leadership dispute within the party.
Other members of the party’s national leadership captured on the commission’s portal include Dr Mani Ahmad as National Treasurer, Akibu Dalhatu as National Financial Secretary, and Prof. Oserheimen Osunbor as National Legal Adviser.
The apex court, in its judgment, set aside an earlier status quo ante bellum order that had effectively stalled decisions on the party’s leadership structure.
It further directed that all related matters be remitted to the Federal High Court for continuation of proceedings.
