Village Boys Movement Announces Further New Leadership Appointments in Delta, FCT, Ogun and Bayelsa States
ABUJA, Nigeria | 21 August 2026
The National Leadership of the Village Boys Movement (VBM), has announced new leadership appointments as part of its efforts to strengthen its grassroots structure and expand its presence across Nigeria ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The newly appointed leaders are:
1. Evangelist Benjamin Okwudilichukwu Nwanji, Delta State Headmaster
2. Uche Okoye, South-East Town Crier
3. Najeeb Suleiman Babalikita, FCT Headmaster
4. Kennedy Nwokocha, FCT Town Crier
5. Odulate Albert Oluwaseun, Ogun State Headmaster
6. Rev. Lucy Idibo Howells, Bayelsa State Headmistress.
The appointments form part of the Movement’s organisational strategy to develop a grassroots network, with emphasis on polling-unit-level engagement, volunteer mobilisation, voter education, community outreach, and communication.
The Movement stated that it considers political participation to extend beyond political parties and election periods to include citizens at the community and grassroots levels. The appointed leaders are expected to support engagement with communities, coordinate grassroots activities, and encourage participation in the democratic process.
Commenting on the appointments, Maazi Tochukwu Ezeoke, National Village Headmaster, stated that the new structure is intended to support the development of an organised grassroots network across the country.
“These appointments are part of our broader effort to strengthen the Village Boys Movement from the grassroots upward. We want ordinary Nigerians to have a voice, understand the political process and participate meaningfully in shaping the future of our country.”
The National Leadership congratulates the newly appointed Headmasters, Headmistress and Town Criers and urges them to carry out their responsibilities with dedication, integrity, discipline and commitment to grassroots mobilisation and community engagement.
The Movement also restates its commitment to promoting political awareness, civic participation, grassroots mobilisation and community engagement as Nigeria prepares for the 2027 general elections.
It further calls on its members, volunteers and supporters across the country to work with the newly appointed leaders in developing a grassroots network based on service, accountability and citizen participation.
