Agony Of Defeat: Cameroonians ‘Insult’ Tinubu After Super Eagles Defeated Them In AFCON Knockout Match

A heated exchange of words between Cameroonians and Nigerians ensued online following the Super Eagles’ victory in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) knockout match on Saturday.

In what appears to be an expression of pain and dissatisfaction with the game, some Cameroonians threw jabs at Nigerians who tagged them while celebrating Nigeria ‘s 2-0 victory against them.

In a series of scornful posts on X, some of them accused Nigerian President, Bola Tinubu of drug trafficking (making reference to the FBI files on him) and also made jest of the country’s embattled naira.

While Nigerians refused to respond to the unfairly banter, myriad of others left mixed comments in reaction.

@Baru said: “This sort of hostility is usually between Nigerians and Ghanaians, not Cameroonians. I’ve always loved the mutual respect between Nigerians and Cameroonians, on or off the pitch. When dis one start nau?”

Meanwhile, in another story, a Cameroonian prophet, Abiri Elijah, also known as ‘The Prophet of Fire’, came under verbal attacks from his fellow countrymen who are not happy with his failed prophecy about the AFCON knockout game against Nigeria.

Prophet Abiri had prophesied that Cameroon will beat Nigeria 3-1 in the match. In a post on his Facebook page, the prophet also directed Rigobert Song and Samuel Eto’o (Cameroonian legends) to let the players use Olive Oil and Salt to bath in a bucket before the game.
