Anglican Lay Reader Tasks Christians On Use Of Resurrection Power

Christians have been Challenged to influence the society positively by the power of prayer and manifestation of the power of resurrection of Jesus Christ.

A Lay Reader in the Abuja Diocese of Anglican Communion, Evangelist Emmanuel Akengor, posed the challenge in a sermon at St Barnabas Anglican Church Byazhin, Kubwa, Abuja marking the first Sunday of Lent and the commencement of the Church’s Women’s Week 2025.

According to him, “for Nigeria to take the rightful and pride of place in the commity of nations, Christians must be ready to make use of the power of Jesus resurrection to revamp the country’s glory.”

He emphasized on the importance and acknowledgement of the resurrection power and ready to apply such power in every situations stating that power of resurrection is beyond human comprehension.

Evang Akengor also highlighted reasons for having the resurrection power to overcome failure, sicknesses, diseases and shame among others.

He concluded that only Christians who receive Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour can be partakers of the benefits of the resurrection power.
