”With a heart full of gratitude and humility, I step into the role of President of the Inner Wheel Club of Apo for the 2025/2026 service year. I am deeply honoured by the trust you have placed in me, an I pledge to serve with sincerity, commitment and love”, those were the words of IWM Dorcas Usen as she took over the mantle of leadership as that 5th President of Inner Wheel Club of Apo for 2025/2026 service year.
The venue of the installation ceremony, Hotel The Horizon, 5 Kandi Close Wuse II, Abuja was filled to capacity on Saturday, October 4th 2025 as Club members, relatives, friends, and well wishers gathered to give honour to whom is due and to be part of the historic event of IWM Dorcas Usen installation.

IWM Usen saluted her “predecessors and leaders who have carried the Club forward with dedication and thanked the fellow members for their unwavering support, encouragement and believe in what we can achieve together.”
The President,Inner Wheel Club of Apo said “together, we will step up to serve our community with love. We will strengthen the binds of friendship within our club. We will uplift the widows, the orphans, the hungry, and the sick – carrying forward the true spirit of Inner Wheel.
IWM Dorcas Usen itemized the N10.6m projects of the Club for the year and rallied support for the actualization of the 8-point project which included supporting the elderly, Health fair & advocacy and sponsorship of youths with priority for young girls in various Computer tech and social media skills training, among others.
The outgoing President, IWM Lolade Fajinmi, had in her valedictory speech noted with nostalgia that the Club recorded outstanding success in her outlined pursuits under her watch, noting that the successful projects were all centered on Employment and Education with direct impact on the lives of the under privileged in the society.
IWM Adebisi Odiyeye, the Chairman of 2025/2026 installation/Project Committee of the Club had in her address of welcome congratulated the newly installed leaders and prayed for a successful, impactful and memorable achievements.
IPP Fajinmi had installed the President, IWM Dorcas Usen with the insigna of office.

IWM Usen thereafter performed the induction of the Executive officers and three new members of the Club.

The Guest Speaker, HE, Dr Princess Kaima Mozie Udeonu, the founder of Zion Gate Orphanage and Charity Homes had stressed the need for leadership training for optimal delivery when given opportunities.

She urged IWM Usen to lead with courage, commitment and conviction.
Highlights of the ceremony was empowerment of the elderly and sponsorship of selected youths in computer tech and social media skills training as well awards to four deserving dignitaries.




They include a renowned gospel artist, Kenny Saint Brown, the wife of Benue State Deputy Governor, Her Excellency Ubagidi Pamela Morphy Sam-Ode, HE, Dr Princess Kaima Mozie Udeonu, the founder of Zion Gate Orphanage and Charity Homes as well as Prince Hakeem Adekoya Ademosu.
Other side attractions included the cutting of the installation ceremony cake.

IWM Dorcas Usen, a devout Christian and God-fearing woman was born into the family of the late Chief Aibangbee and Madam Victoria Aibangbee of Abudu. She is the fourth of eleven children. She had her early education in Abudu and attended the prestigious Esigie College. After teaching for some years, she obtained a Diploma in Leadership (1 and 2), proceeded to the College of Education, Ijanikin, and later earned a B.Ed as a part-time student of Lagos State University.
She was married to the late Johnson Usen, a retired Commissioner of Police. Through him, she became an active member of the Police Officers’ Wives Association (POWA). As a young married woman, she ventured into business and, with resilience, rose to become Managing Director and CEO of Dorsen Gold Limited. Her success made her the only woman among men in the gold business at the famous Wuse Market, Abuja. She also established Dorsen Gold Aluminium and Construction Company Limited.
Her leadership and entrepreneurial spirit extend to several associations, including:
Retired Police Officers Association,
Association of Solid Minerals Manufacturers Association of Nigeria, and
African Business School.
She is also a recipient of the Human Resource Excellency Award.
Beyond her business exploits, IWM Dorcas Usen is a passionate philanthropist. Long before joining the Inner Wheel family, she dedicated herself to caring for widows, orphans, hungry children, and the sick in hospitals. Her heart for service and giving found a natural expression in the Inner Wheel Club of Apo, where she has faithfully served as: Sergeant-at-Arms; Treasurer; and Vice President.
She is blessed with wonderful children.
