‎‎Bizarre: Commotion As First Son Allegedly Refuses To Allow His Family Bury Their Mother In The Family Compound, Demands Settlement

There was chaos at a burial ceremony in Aku, Imo State, when the first son of the deceased allegedly refused to allow the burial take place unless he is given some form of settlement.

‎According to a retired police officer who spoke at the family’s compound, the father of the family named Godwin Nwawere and his wife produced a son named Uzoma Nwawere and multiple daughters who are married.

‎He said that the married daughters are doing well and cared for their mother while neglecting their brother and failing to accord him respect as a first son.

‎He added that all the daughters, who are married to men from Mbano in Imo State, “connived” with their mother to disrespect the first son.

‎The retired police said in Igbo: “Godwin Nwawere, who is the husband of the deceased, has passed on. They had children; Uzoma, who is the first son, and other two, and five daughters, who are married.

‎”But the first son was not getting the respect due to a first son.

‎”All the daughters, who are married to Mbano men, connived with their mother and started treating the first son in a way that is not right.

‎”Now the first son has been the one living at home on ‘credit’ and this pleased the daughters who are all married out.”

‎Following their mother’s de@th, the first son allegedly insisted that in order to bury her in the family’s compound, which is now his by inheritance, he must get settlement from his married sisters and their husbands (his in-laws).

‎A video shared online shows a large mound of red earth dug out from the ground, believed to be where the deceased is supposed to be buried, while a crowd gathered beside it, arguing in raised voices, not minding the cloudy weather and light drizzle.
