Port Harcourt was into tension after a bandit launched a sudden attack in one of the communities, DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS reports.
The incident, which happened in the early hours of the morning, caused panic among residents as people ran for safety while trying to understand what was going on.
According to eyewitnesses, the bandit stormed the area with weapons and attempted to rob and terrorise locals. Many people were already preparing for their daily activities when the attack started, leaving several households frightened.
However, the situation changed quickly when a local militant group in the community stepped in. The group, known for protecting their territory from criminal activities, responded immediately. They confronted the bandit, engaged him, and eventually neutralised him before he could cause more harm.
Residents say the militant’s intervention prevented what could have become a major tragedy. Some locals also revealed that the community had faced minor threats in recent weeks, but no one expected an open attack this morning.
