The Edo State Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Agun Gbenga, collapsed and died during an event in Benin.
Gbenga reportedly slumped shortly after delivering his goodwill message at a programme organized by the International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA), held at the Bishop Kelly Pastoral Centre, Benin City.
Attempts by attendees to revive him immediately after the incident proved unsuccessful.
He was rushed to the Military Base Hospital in Benin, where doctors confirmed him dead.
