Former President Goodluck Jonathan on Thursday hosted the 2023 Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in a closed-door meeting in Abuja.

‎Mr Obi confirmed the meeting in a post on his official X handle, where he described Dr Jonathan as an “elder brother, statesman, and leader.”
‎He noted that their discussions centred on national concerns and the state of the country.

‎“Today in Abuja, I met with my very dear elder brother, statesman, and leader, former President Goodluck Jonathan.
‎We had a fruitful closed-door meeting and discussed the state of our dear nation,” Mr Obi wrote.

‎Details of the discussions were not disclosed, and it remains unclear whether the 2027 presidential election featured in their talks.
