The strike embarked upon by the Nigeria Labour Congress in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, over the implementation timeline for the N70,000 minimum wage has been suspended.
This followed an agreement between the FCT NLC and chairmen of FCT Area Councils which concluded that the workers would be paid arrears of the N70,000 minimum wage from July to December between January and February 2025.
The FCT State Executive Council of the NLC has therefore directed all Primary school teachers and Area Councils workers in the FCT to resume work unfailingly on Thursday December 12, 2024.
The FCT NLC Chairman, Comrade Stephen A. Knabayi told DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS in a telephone chat Wednesday night that the workers would resume the suspended strike should government failed to pay all the arrears latest by February 28, 2025.
