Due to the on-going efforts to improve educational facilities in the Federal Capital Territory, the FCT Minister, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, has approved the extension of holidays by two weeks for schools currently undergoing rehabilitation work.
The Director of the Department of Quality Assurance, FCTA, Dr. Favour Edem- Nse, made this disclosure in Abuja, Friday.
The Director said that the decision is aimed at ensuring the safety and comfort of students and staff during the renovation period.
According to the Director, the
extension applies exclusively to schools undergoing the accelerated rehabilitation and reconstruction of dilapidated structures, while certificate students will continue with their academic schedules as planned.
She stated that the decision is strategic to ensure that students preparing for examinations are not disrupted; allowing them to remain focused on their studies.
Edem- Nse reiterated the FCT Administration’ s commitment to providing conducive learning environments and improving educational infrastructure across the FCT, while prioritizing the well being of Students and Staff during the rehabilitation process.
The Director reassured the Parents, Guardians, and Stakeholders of their mandate to continue to maintain high educational standards in FCT.
