BREAKING: Five Feared Dead As Sit-At-Home Enforcers Attack Anambra Communities

Gunmen, allegedly enforcing the outlawed sit-at-home order, launched a series of deadly attacks on Monday morning across communities in Anambra Central Senatorial Zone.

The attacks, which occurred between 8 am and 10 am in Abatete, Abagana, and Ukpo, left at least five people dead and many more injured.

The first attack happened in Abatete town, where gunmen targeted vigilant personnel attached to the town’s President-General (PG).

Three security men were shot and killed, while the PG was critically injured and rushed to a nearby hospital.

In separate incidents, the gunmen attacked Abagana and Ukpo communities, leaving one Vigilante Group member and a motorcycle rider dead at the Ukpo roundabout in Dunukofia Local Government Area.

The police have confirmed the incidents. The spokesperson of the police in the state said: “The details are still sketchy, but our operatives are currently at the scene. I will get back to you with facts as soon as I can.”
