The University of Nigeria Teaching Hospital, Ituku Ozalla, in Enugu State, came under attack on Tuesday.
Gunmen, suspected to be kidnappers, stormed the hospital and abducted two persons.
A female deputy director, nursing services, and a security man were reportedly whisked away by the gunmen.
An SUV allegedly belonging to the abducted woman, a nurse, was seen abandoned, with the glass on the front passenger side riddled with bullet.
The Enugu State Police Command and the Hospital management are yet to confirm the attack.
A source who’s privy to the matter disclosed that the incident occurred at the same location a medical doctor was abducted a few weeks ago.
“This is so sad; we are not safe at all in this hospital; everywhere is porous,” a distressed staff member lamented
Enugu state has become the hotbed of myriad of criminal activities in recent months as non-state actors unleash terror on residents of the state.
On Monday, a man was shot dead in the state while his daughter and wife were abducted.
