Iran has unleashed more than 100 missiles targeting cities throughout Israel, resulting in the deaths of at least eight people and injuring nine others in a shooting incident in the Jaffa area of Tel Aviv.
As the missiles rained down, air raid sirens blared nationwide, with some missiles intercepted by Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system.
This shooting spree, coupled with the Iranian missile attack, marks a significant escalation in the regional conflict.
Among the wounded, four individuals are reported to be in critical condition.
Security forces shot dead two suspected attackers, while one additional suspect remains at large.
Earlier, the White House indicated it had received “indications that Iran is preparing to imminently launch a ballistic missile attack against Israel.”
A senior White House official stated, “A direct military attack from Iran against Israel will have severe consequences for Iran.”
U.S. President Joe Biden has ordered the military to assist Israel by intercepting Iranian missiles, according to the National Security Council (NSC).
Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris are closely monitoring the situation from the White House situation room, as reported by Reuters, which cited a tweet from an NSC spokesperson.
