The Labour Party has announced that its presidential ticket for the 2027 elections will be exclusively reserved for candidates from Southern Nigeria.

Nenadi Usman, the party’s acting National Chairperson, disclosed the decision on Tuesday during an interaction with journalists in Abuja.

Usman stated, “We have made a definite decision that the party will not field any aspirant from northern Nigeria.

“The position has been zoned to the South, and any northerner seeking to contest will not be considered.”
