In a decisive move ahead of the 2026 Osun governorship election, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has endorsed Munirudeen Bola Oyebamiji as the consensus candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The endorsement followed a crucial meeting held with all Osun APC governorship aspirants at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, attended by the National Chairman of the party, Prof. Nentawe Goshwe Yilwatda, and the leader of the party from Osun, Adegboyega Oyetola. The meeting successfully resolved the earlier controversy surrounding the disqualification of some aspirants, paving the way for a united and stronger front.
In a unanimous decision, other aspirants including Prince Oyedotun Babayemi, Barr. Adegoke Rasheed (SAN), Dr. Akin Ogunbiyi, Mr. Benedict Alabi, Senator Babajide Omoworare, Mr. Babatunde Oralusi, Dr. Mrs. Mulikat Abiola Jimoh and Senator Mudashiru Husain agreed to set aside their individual ambitions and work together in full support of the former NIWA Managing Director, Bola Oyebamiji, to strengthen the party’s chances in the forthcoming 2026 governorship election.
