Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Geoffrey Uche Nnaji, has resigned following allegations of certificate forgery levelled against him.

‎Presidential aide, Bayo Onanuga, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday, saying President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has accepted the minister’s resignation.

‎According to Onanuga, Nnaji, who was appointed in August 2023, tendered his resignation letter to the President, expressing appreciation for the opportunity to serve the nation.

‎The former minister described himself as a victim of blackmail from political opponents.

‎“President Tinubu thanked him for his service and wished him success in his future endeavours,” the statement added.
