The statement read thus:
“With all her daughters by her side on Wednesday, 6th November 2024 Mama Ane Ogoyi Peter, aged 109years, peacefully passed onto glory at her home, Ipole Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State.
“She was born into the family of late Pa Adoyi and mama Ebrehi Akor in the rural community of Efekwo Otukpa, Ogbadibo Local Government Area of Benue State in 1915.
“Without the opportunity of any formal education, she assisted her late parents in farming and marketing activities as it was the major occupation of that time which served as the source of income and basis of livelihood.
“According to the family lineage, late Mama Ane was the first child of her parents. Her late virtuous parents, Adoyi and Ebrehi Akor, were renown disciplinarian and hardworking. They gave her the required upbringing, therefore, she grew up a replica of her parental influence. She was equally industrious.
“In the late 1920s, late Mama Ane met Ogoyi Peter, then a young Evangelist, who travelled the length and breadth of Otukpa and its environs. And the two were inseparable from that point on. Mama Ane and Ogoyi later got married. She had six children.
“Mama was a woman who loved God and indeed a loving mother. To her, family came first, a value she instilled in all her children and those around her. She cared for everyone especially those who had their paths crossed hers. The hole left by her absence is hardly impossible to fill.
“In addition to her late parents, late Mama Ane is predeceased in joining the Lord by her brothers and sister, Idoko, Abah, Ehota, and Onuh; her step-sisters, Onyikwu, Elamma, Onyi, Agboyi, Inyamu; and Mary, late Mamas first child. She is survived by Jane, Comfort, John (JP), Esther, and Regina, 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; co-wife, seven step-children, and 27 grand step-children.”
May her soul continue to rest in the bossom of the Lord
May the good Lord receive her soul, my heart felt condolences to the family, may the soul of Mama rest in peace
