Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion Diocese of Kubwa Celebrates 20th Anniversary

The Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion Diocese of Kubwa rolled out drums as she celebrated her 20th Anniversary with pomp and peagentry.

The Diocese on Saturday March 29th 2025 hosted an anniversary Dinner and Award night at COK Best Mall, Arab Road, Kubwa, Abuja with five categories of awards – Life Achievement Leadership Award, Outstanding Leadership Award, Impactful Leadership Award, Selfless Leadership Award and Exemplary Leadership Award.

Dr Solomon Ajape, Mr Benjamin Tsado and Mr Emeka Jideani of St Barnabas Anglican Church Byazhin Kubwa Abuja were among Awardees in the Selfless Leadership Award category.

Earlier, in his address of Welcome, The Rt Rev Dr Duke T. Akamisoko, had dealt on the theme of the anniversary celebration, “Celebrating the Faithfulness of God”, Lamentation 3:21-22.

He recalled that twenty years ago, God planted a seed – a vision, a mission, a calling and they are all witnesses of what the Lord hath done so far.

Bishop Akamisoko noted that one of the greatest testimonies of God’s faithfulness in the 20 years is the expansion of the Diocese across the FCT.

These included Church planting and Evangelism, building of new churches, building and renovation of vicarages.

He also identified the Church’s investments in the education and health sectors as part of the undeniable proofs of God’s faithfulness in the past 20 years, noting that the Anglican Hospital had consistently held free medical outreaches, offering healthcare, surgeries and medicines to those who cannot afford them.

Bishop Akamisoko then outlined the next chapter expected of the Diocese in the years ahead which include stronger commitment to Evangelism, Investing on the house Next Generation and Building stronger communities among others.

A total of 321 members – Clergy and laity were honoured during the gala night.
