Human rights lawyer, Deji Adeyanju, has said all lands allegedly taken by the Minister of Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, will be returned.
DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS reports that Wike has been accused of revoking land allocations within the FCT and reallocating them to his cronies.
However, the Minsiter said the structures are illegal, pose security risks, and some of the lands belong to the government.
In a post via X, Adeyanju described Wike as a land grabber, stressing that if Northerners who were FCT Ministers could not successfully grab people’s lands, Wike would not be an exception.
Adeyanju said Wike is too small to stop landowners who lost their properties from reclaiming them.
He wrote: “All the land the land grabber is stealing in Abuja will be collected back. Even Northerners who were FCT Ministers couldn’t steal Abuja land, is it now villager of Obio/Akpor wearing fake designers and looking like a clown that will steal Abuja land? Wike is too small.”
Meanwhile, Wike has defended the ongoing demolition of properties in Abuja, stating that the exercise targets illegal structures built on government lands.
Speaking to journalists on Thursday, Wike dismissed criticisms of the demolition drive as baseless blackmail, vowing that the Federal Capital Development Authority (FCDA) would not relent in restoring the city’s master plan.
Speaking during the distribution of operational vehicles to security agencies at the FCTA Secretariat in Abuja on Thursday Wike said, “Let me use this opportunity to tell Nigerians and residents of Abuja, we are not afraid of blackmailing.”
