‎Easter: APC Chairman Calls For Hope, Unity Among Nigerians

‎As Christians across the globe celebrate the resurrection of Jesus Christ, the National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has called on Nigerians to embrace the virtues of sacrifice, hope, and national unity.

‎This charge was contained in his Easter message signed by his Special Adviser on Media and Communication Strategy, Abimbola Tooki, on Sunday in Abuja.

‎Describing the season as a cornerstone of the Christian faith, Yilwatda said the celebration calls for a “solemn moment of reflection” on the deeper lessons of resilience and humility.

‎He noted that the story of Easter offers a powerful blueprint for Nigeria’s current journey toward stability.

‎“Easter teaches us that sacrifice is the pathway to glory, that suffering is never the end of the story, and that with faith in God, hope can rise again even in difficult times,” Yilwatda stated.

‎Addressing the nation’s security landscape, the APC Chairman expressed deep concern over the persistent threats of banditry, insurgency, and kidnapping.

‎While commiserating with families affected by violence, he urged citizens not to succumb to the “politics of fear.”

‎“At a time like this, we must not allow fear, division, or despair to define us as a people. Rather, we must stand together in unity and resolve, trusting God and supporting all lawful efforts aimed at restoring peace,” he said.

‎He further emphasised that the nation requires individuals who will move beyond mere professions of faith to living out values of righteousness and compassion in both public and private spheres.

‎Yilwatda used the occasion to throw his weight behind the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

‎He highlighted the President’s ongoing “strategic interventions” and institutional reforms as evidence of the government’s commitment to overhauling the nation’s security architecture.

‎He called for a multi-level collaboration involving community leaders, faith-based institutions, and security agencies to ensure that justice and order prevail across the federation.

‎The APC chairmam then urged Christian faithful to dedicate the Easter season to pray for those in the line of national service and for the healing of the country.

‎“This is a time for prayer, reflection, and renewed hope. As Christians celebrate the resurrection of Christ, we must also pray for the renewal of our nation; for healing where there is pain, peace where there is conflict, and hope where there is despair,” he added.

‎He expressed unwavering confidence that through collective commitment and responsible leadership, Nigeria would emerge from its present trials a stronger and more prosperous nation.
