It was eulogies all through at the event to mark the 60th birthday of a seasoned Evangelist and a fully Accredited Lay Preacher in Methodist Church Nigeria, Ezinne Dorothy Onwuchekwa.
Ezinne Onwuchekwa beaming with smiles all throughout the event held at Phase 2 site 1 Garden, Kubwa, Abuja was celebrated by Methodist members from across the three Dioceses in Abuja Archdiocese and members of the Women Wing Christian Council of Nigeria, (WOWICCN).
Women Fellowship members from Kubwa, Nyanya and Abuja Dioceses of the church were not left behind as they attended the Diamond Jubilee celebration in large number.
From Very Revd Onoja, Nyanya Cathedral Presbyter to Very Revd Dr Samuel Jephthah Friday of Kubwa Cathedral of Methodist Church, to the chairman of the birthday bash, Sir Kelechi Alagbaoso and some neighbours as well as former colleagues of the celebrant, Ezinne Onwuchekwa was a lover of God and Jesus Christ, His son, cheerful giver, prayer warrior, and down to heart devout Christian.
Highlights of the event was the cutting of the birthday cake and dances.
Earlier, during the Holy Communion service held at the Methodist Cathedral of Grace, Kubwa, Abuja, The Cathedral Minister, The Very Revd Sylvester Ugochukwu Madu, quoting from Ephesians chapter 2 vs 10, reminded Ezinne Onwuchekwa that what God required from her at age 60 is to continue to serve his creator and be devoted to good works.
He tasked the celebrant and all Christians to imbibe the habit of thanksgiving like that of a Samaritan recorded in the 17th chapter of the Gospel of Luke.
Very Rev Madu admonished her to live a life of thanksgiving as her existence was not a wasted one haven received and still receiving bountiful gifts from God.
Born December 28th 1964 to the family of Udensi, Ezinne Dorothy Onwuchekwa is accredited as a Lay Preacher of MCN in 2014, later became an Evangelist and was also honoured with the Susana Wesley Award by her home Diocese in Abia State.
