A group of concerned citizens from Zaria City, Birni, has formally petitioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to recall two prominent political figures: The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Rt Hon. Dr. Abbas Tajuddeen, and Senator Ibrahim Khalid Soba.
The petitioners alleged that both representatives have failed to provide adequate representation and address the pressing needs of their constituents.
The petition, which has garnered significant attention in the region, outlines various grievances against the two elected officials.
The residents claim that despite their high-ranking positions, Dr. Tajuddeen and Senator Soba have not lived up to their responsibilities, leading to widespread dissatisfaction among the people of Zaria.
Among the concerns raised are issues related to infrastructure development, social welfare, and effective communication between the representatives and their constituents.
The petitioners argue that the lack of tangible progress and consistent neglect of the community’s needs have prompted them to take this drastic step.
