‎Installation Ceremony: IWM Yemi Ajao Takes Over As 33rd President Of Inner Wheel Club Of Garki Amidst Pomp, Pageantry

‎Wednesday, October 1st, 2025 would continue to be cherished in the annals of history of Inner Wheel Club of Garki, District 910-Nigeria as family members, relatives and well wishers were among dignitaries who turned out in large number to witness the installation ceremony of IWM Yemi Ajao as the 33rd President of the Club.

The Chairman, Planning Committee, PDS Anu Bamisaye set the ball rolling in her address of welcome where she noted that the ceremony was not only to mark the beginning of a new leadership era but a continuation of the rich legacy of service, compassion, and commitment to humanity that the Inner Wheel is known for.

She stated that the presence of guests and well wishers is a testimony of their love and commitment to the ideals of friendship and service that the Inner Wheel stands for.

‎In her outgoing speech, the President, Inner Wheel Club of Garki, 2024 – 2025, IPP Bola Akinsiku, reeled out remarkable milestone achievements of her tenure which included women empowerment in which some selected women were given sewing machines, grinding machines, ovens, etc as well as payment of WARC/NECO fees for both senior and junior students to mark International Inner Wheel Day last January.

‎Bola Akinsiku was full of confidence that as she handed over to IWM Yemi Ajao, the Inner Wheel Club of Garki would continue to soar higher, touching even more lives and setting greater milestones.

‎IPP Bola Akinsiku then performed the installation of the new President, IWM Yemi Ajao to the admiration of dignitaries in attendance.

IWM Yemi Ajao, in her acceptance speech  stated that as the President, she is committed to service, growth,and impact, stressing that “Together, we will step Up and Lead by Example, sisters by embarking on meaningful projects that touch lives, transform communities and leave a legacy.”

IWM Yemi Ajao outlined the N25 million projects, her administration intend to execute which includes: Prison Visitation to Kuje Correctional Center,Elderly Orphanage visitation, Payment of JAMB, WAEC and school fees, Provision of boreholes to three communities and health fair – HIV & Hepatitis awareness in two rural communities among others.

The club President had earlier performed her first official function of the induction of Club officers for 2025/2026.

Eleven elderly and widows including a 94-year-old grandmother were celebrated and empowered with gifts items including foodstuff, wrappers and cash donation.

Highlights of the ceremony was the cutting of installation cake and award ceremony.

Prominent among the Awardees were, a retired Nurse, Mrs Grace Abosede Adekoya JP; a retired Assistant Comptroller General of Immigration, Mrs Jummai Babson; and a chartered Insurance Practitioner and Vice Chairman of Horizon Group of Companies, Dr Mrs Bola Onigbogi.

The President, IWM Ajao was born on the 7th of March 1962 in Lagos to the family of Mr. and Mrs. Cleophas Lartey and Felicia Adeyanju Lawson, the 33rd President of Inner Wheel Club of Garki, Deaconess Yemi Ajao had professional career that spanned decades of dedicated public service, culminating in her rgetirement at the pinnacle of her career from the Federal Ministry of Works and Housing, Abuja.

She began her education at St. Mary’s Convent School, Broad Street, Lagos, and continued at Holy Child College, Obalende/Ikoyi, Lagos.

‎While awaiting her school certificate results, she worked with the Federal Audit Department, where she would later meet her husband.

‎Driven by a passion for continuous learning, she pursued a City and Guilds of London Certificate in Catering and Hotel Management before obtaining a Higher National Diploma in Textile Technology from Kaduna Polytechnic.

‎Beyond her professional accomplishments, Yemi Ajao is a devoted wife, mother of four wonderful children (two sons and two daughters), and grandmother of nine, all to the glory of God.

‎A woman deeply committed to her faith, Yemi Ajao attended various Bible schools and served in multiple capacities in the church, including House Fellowship Teacher, Elder’s Forum Chairman, Vice Chairman and Secretary, Welfare Department Treasurer, and eventually rose to become a Deaconess, reflecting her unwavering service to God and humanity.

‎Following her retirement, her passion for touching lives led her to join the Inner Wheel Club of Garki, where her hard work, dedication, and compassion for the less privileged have distinguished her. Her remarkable service and leadership have now earned her the honor of serving as President of the Inner Wheel Club of Garki.

‎Deaconess Yemi Ajao is a lover of God, a community builder, and a woman who values joy, friendship, and a stress-free life. Her story is one of dedication, excellence, service, and impact, both in her career and in her contributions to society.
