‎‎JUST IN: Olubadan Suspends Promotion From Mogaji To ‘Highly Competitive Jagun Olubadan’ Indefinitely

The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, has suspended the promotion from Mogaji to Jagun Olubadan indefinitely.

‎Though the monarch did not give reason for the action, palace sources told DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS that it was in a bid to “sanitize the system from becoming all comer affairs.”

‎Jagun lines, on both the civil and military lines of ascension to the throne of Ibadan, are the entry points for the hundreds of Mogajis in the capital city. They deploy their influence and connection to be considered.

‎In a statement by Adeola Oloko, spokesperson to the monarch, he announced the elevation of the elder brother of ‘Seyi Makinde, Muyiwa Makinde, billionaire businessman, ‘Dotun Sanusi, two-term reps members, Akinola Alabi and others.

‎It said 9 chiefs in the Otun Olubadan line from Jagun to Ayingun would be elevated on Friday by Oba Ladoja.

‎The ceremony which is expected to have members of Olubadan-in-council in attendance would hold from 11.00 am at Oke-Aremo Palace,Ibadan.

‎Makinde would be promoted from Aare Onibon to Gbonka Olubadan while Sanusi would be promoted from Ajia to Bada Olubadan. Similarly, Alabi would be elevated from Jagun to Ajia Olubadan.
