The Kogi State Police Command has confirmed the hijacking of ABC and Good Is Good Motor (GIGM) transport company vehicles by unknown armed men.
The two vehicles heading to Abuja from Abia State were reportedly attacked and hijacked in Kogi State.
DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS gathered that the incident took place on Saturday.
Speaking to DECENCY GLOBAL NEWS on Monday, the state’s police spokesperson, Williams Aya, said, “Yes, the incident happened but the DPO, Local Vigilantes and Hunters have been in the bush to rescue the victims.”
Aya added that the Kogi State Command has deployed additional tactical squad compromising Quick Response Unit, Police Mobile Force, Counter-Terrorism Unit as well as conventional police personnel to the area.
They are “to continue with the bush combing and to ensure all victims are rescued unhurt”, Aya said.
