Members of Women Fellowship in Methodist Cathedral of Grace, Phase 3, Kubwa, Abuja on Sunday joined other women in Christiandom to celebrate mothering Sunday.
Mothering Sunday is a day set aside to celebrate mother and womanhood in the Church.
In her sermon, the President of Women Fellowship, Diocese of Kubwa, Mrs Alice Onyaole Onoja tasked women in the Diocese to be the Esther and Deborah of our time, noting that they have all the wherewithal and capabilities to achieve any set goals.

Mrs Onoja, who is also an accredited Lay Preacher in Methodist Church Nigeria titled her Sermon, “Women Arise” from the book of Prophet Isaiah chapter 32 vs 9.

The preacher had earlier described a woman as the beauty of the universe and soldiers without uniform.
She noted that a mother is a God fearing woman, prayer warrior and lover of words of God, stressing that a mother is an encourager, mentor, giver, a good example to her children, a hardworking woman and a good supporter of her husband and children in time of trials of journey of life.
Mrs Onoja then wished the members of the Fellowship a happy mother’s day, praying that they would enjoy the fruit of their labours in good health and sound mind in Jesus’ name.
Highlights of the celebration were anthem by the Women Fellowship Choir, pidgin news broadcast and presentation by the children department of the church.
